sail2wind said: You best have a generator and A/C to be moored in Sprat. Also be aware ice was $10 a bag and the showers, water is $1 a gallon, and the showers are OK at best. What Evan said... The new marina is apparently finished and I believe the showers are much improved - they were definitely NOT worth the extra $$$ last year. But - you will be HOT HOT HOT without gen/AC. The pool and the pool bar are VERY nice and you can hike on over to their beach and use the beach chairs there, etc. We will likely stop there this year but we'll opt to anchor in Deadman's Bay.

Great is nice and secluded. there is a fairly decent restaurant...oceans...but no beach. Snorkeling along the coast is pretty good to fair. You can dink over to Peter, but don't get too welcome. We have had mixed experiences on how welcome we were there, If you plan on sitting at the beach, order a drink first (at least) for a chair.
At least while you wait a long time until they get it for you. you can enjoy the beach.
Overall, welcome on the exterior, not welcome at the core...unless they have no-one else on the island. Their guest ALWAYS come first. and you are not, even if you stay at the dock, let alone the balls.

Winterstale said: FYI - if you anchor in Deadman's Bay, they are more than happy if you buy drinks at the beach bar and hang out there - you are not welcome at the pool, showers, etc if you're not a guest of the hotel or marina (slip or ball).
Great Harbor is nice - there is a restaurant ashore called Ocean's Seven which has mixed opinions - and I've actually heard that it may only open for groups now? Not sure - we've actually never been to the restaurant. There are mooring balls there and you can still get over to Peter Island Resort but it's a little bit of a hike - nothing unmanageable. You have to leave your dinghy ashore and make sure you secure it somehow - there used to be a local who "watched" the dinghies but I believe he passed away. We pent our last night in GH in November. I have to say, it was pretty great. We picked a ball ear oceans 7 and also near shore. Snorkeling and swimming was awesome. Although I think we were the only. people that came for dinner, the folks at O7 treated us fantastic. I know that place gets mixed reviews but they treated my crew like kings. Tremendous.
