There's not much worse than lazy, unhelpful people on a boat. I think the confined environment magnifies what might be a minor annoyance on shore.

Whether it's on my own boat or on charter a real quick way to get on my bad side is to sit and watch me work at something. Especially something menial like taking out the trash, or washing the dishes. Which is not to say that I'm above doing that stuff, but to not even offer a hand is deplorable manners. Doesn't happen often though, because I generally wouldn't invite people like that aboard.

In fact, one of my favorite things about our last charter was how great very one pitched in. I don't think I emptied the trash once that trip. Ever time I checked, done. Dishes, done. Wash down, done. All without a word said.

Yup....I only invite folks on .Reef Song who I know are " boat people" ...
It's usually a race to the cooking, cleaning, bartendimg and general pampering of the captain and admiral.

...I have a rude awakening when they disembark and it's just Ward and Kim...nearly died of starvation and dehydration for a few hours in May <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

I have the best friends ever!!!
