The only thing to be concerned about hiking there are the rattlesnakes. We were there in October mid week and the place was dead plus the pool and hot tub were dirty. They were constructing a new enclosure for the indoor pool so they were making some improvements. Glen Eden or Desert Sun are better options IMHO.
