We were planning a new stop at the Rock Cafe, does have a recommendation if getting a dock in Spanish Town or Leverick would be better? Can you walk from the marina in Spanish town to the Rock Cafe?

BTW - we have 12" snow and the temp is on its way down to -5F ... DIF

You can walk to The Rock from the marina. I believe it's just under 1/2 mile.

I might take a taxi after dark.

I agree it's an easy walk from VGYH. If you intend to walk after dark I would bring a flashlight, both to see and be seen. I got a little overzealous with the "be seen" part, waving the flashlight directly at an oncoming driver, which was probably very annoying. As he rolled by he said, "I see you."

I would not recommend walking from Spanish Town after dark. I hope if you do go to The Rock you have a better experience than my Husband and I. We always loved this place and our last visit this past November the food and service was awful. It was so bad we didn't even stay for dessert-went to Bucks for a pint of ice cream. I did write a restaurant review, I think it was put onto the Treehouse though.

Don't forget that another option, Coco Maya, is only 100 yards to the right of The Rock, maybe for a nightcap like they did on a recent episode of Below Deck on the Bravo channel <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Cheers.gif" alt="" />

It should be noted that The Rock Cafe and the Tree house, although in the same nitty are wholly different experiences. And even the Rock Cafe has different milieus...inside next to the bar are linen topped tables in AC which we opted for 3 out our 4 visits in November as it was humid. Seating in the outdoors among the boulders is lovely amidst the water falls and pools and we did not find it buggy at all. The Tree House is way up, 76 steps I counted, small and intimate with its own dedicated chef and smaller menu, in an aerie setting, high above the Rock Cafe, with a few tables inside and a few more on the surrounding porch. The food at both was quite good, and the wait staff very attentive. We especially enjoyed Frederick in the main dining room. Then there is Coco Maya, an Asian fusion, small plates, open air restaurant and on the beach under palm trees with a fire pit on the beach as well as loungers in the sand. Food was good, but of course, some dishes are spicy. Sharing plates is what is generally done. I would easily recommend both.

We really appreciate the TTOL board, the crew has all the options. We just need to make a decision. I FEEL like Julie the cruise director, often I act like Gopher. :-)
