Anyone know if they are functional and decent? It depends upon your definition of decent. They are servicable. They flush manually with a bucket of water. I assume that the Papagayo washrooms are gone...please confirm. Correct.

Yes, there are two toilets housed next to each other in separate wooden stalls each with a door; however, power is provided to PerchLite via generator, not the bathroom facility. Without continuous water flow to the tanks flushing is not guaranteed. Bucket and outside water spigot is provided for periodic flushes. It is also most appreciated if toilet paper is disposed in waste basket NOT the toilet for obvious reasons. Please remember this is an island recovering from a horrific storm- be appreciative of the small things. My suggestion...BYOTP, bring your own hand sanitizer, remember to wear your sandals, and be thankful! ...It's certainly better than pissing in the sea.

"It's certainly better than pissing in the sea." That's where it's going to end up anyway. Under the current conditions, the most likely scenario.

Thank you for the chemistry lesson - I learned something! Yes. So did I. At 70 I'm still learning.

Even if every human on earth peed in the ocean at the same time, it would only create a tiny concentration of urea.
And it would probably taste like Bud Lite. [/quote] Good one.
