I actually have a phone number it is from a long time ago, I doubt if phones are working or if it even is accurate anymore.

I have a list of most establishments phone numbers on JVD from the 1st time we went there but it was a long time ago.

FYI - I believe Abe's was completely destroyed by the storm. I recall seeing a flyover video of Little Harbour and there was nothing left...

I was so afraid that might be the case. Hope you are wrong but not surprised.

sidneys was also hit hard. They lost the roof several years ago and they lost it again. A photo I saw had the JVD ferry upside down on the dock. In another photo it looked like Harris's was gone. The houses up where the Hendricks family (sidneys) looked like it was hit hard. We love the Hendrick and hope they are all well.

And they have built a delightful deck over the water where you can watch the sunset.

They are open, they are working on the rebuild, and probably almost done. The lobster and the coleslaw are still the best on island!

Abe's rebuild was nicely done. Stopped by three weeks ago and much impressed with the improvement over what I recall from their 2006 version.
All three restaurants are back in operation in Little Harbor. Abe's, Sidney's and Harris'.

I am a little concerned in all the rebuilding that the islands are loosing a lot of their funkiness.

I haven't stayed in Little Harbour in awhile. Are their prices pretty good compared to the spots in White bay such as Hendo's hideout?

The islands are not losing their "funkiness"! To me "funkiness" is a vibe, and that vibe is still there.

Do things look new, yes, they do, when you are wiped clean to nothing you have to rebuild.

This rebuild is hard work, and I am totally proud of each and every family, business, establishment on all of the islands, and what they have been able to accomplish Post Irma.

The Funkiness might be a “Vibe” but that vibe has gone from local sailing sloops to 100+MPH speed boats flying through the anchorages..
The big money has already taken over and soon the small harbors will be off limits to anything but mega yachts.

I don't think that there is any danger of losing funkiness!

We just spent a great week afloat... some of the bars/restaurants are new but built the same way as they were before, and some are built differently! Places like Soggy and Cooper are great still as they have been for years (rebuild notwithstanding)... Ivans in White Bay, in some ways, is back to how it was 5 years ago! Places like Pirates is new, but then it was new before. Willy T is new - but the vibe is the same... didn't get to Anegada this time but I guarantee those places have lost nothing!

Didn't see any 100+ MPH speedboats flying through anchorages but maybe we didn't get to those places smile

I think the islands are doing a terrific job pulling themselves up by their bootstraps and getting back online as best they know how. All the people I met were appreciative of the business and were happy to see us. The vibe is great. Long may it continue.

Not my experience when we were down three weeks ago. Didn't see one 100+MPH speed boat.
