We are arriving STT on AA at 2 52pm headed to Tortolla. We may or may not be able to make the 4:00pm Fast Ferry. If not we should make the 5:30 Native Son. Should we reserve one and take a chance or wait and walk up?

Typing on a phone will do that. We have a group of 10. Do these ferries sell out at the end of July?

You should be fine. Worst case, if you make the 4pm ferry but there’s not enough room for the whole group, some stay behind and wait an hour and a half for the next ferry. Given that you’re cutting it close to make the 4pm, I’d advise against buying tickets in advance.
