5 of us going down in June. We want to come in a day early and be near Red Hook to be able to provision early the next morning and settle in for our charter. Any suggestion for inexpensive accommodations for one night?

There are a bunch of places near Red Hook - just fire up expedia and sort through them. I recommend Crystal Palace in CA. Its only about 15-20 min depending on traffic and Ronnie will help you with transportation. Great guy, great place and incredible view of the harbor.

The only real grocery store near Red Hook is Food Center, near Independent Marina. It's a decent grocery and better than the BVIs, but Cost U Less and Plaza Extra in Tutu are better and cheaper. I'd stay where ever you wish (love Crystal Palace and Best Western Emerald Beach) and hit the gorceries on the way to Red Hook. Rhoda's guest house is closer to where you want to be.

Cheers, RickG

Thanks. What about a suggestion for transportation from STT to Redhook. Taxi or rental or is there a ferry? We'll be getting in around 1 pm.

if you want flexibility, rent a car, while Food Center is clean with a very good selection, it is much more pricy then Plaza Extra or Cost-U-Less
