We are considering a stay at Grand Lido Negril. I am wondering whether people are commonly nude at the pool and also around the grounds of the resort. I assume one must be clothed for meals.

Thanks!

You should post this in the nude forum. I have not been but I think I saw somewhere it was allowed in just one section with a pool.

Nudity is required at all of the pool areas, including the ones on the swim-out rooms. This may not be consistently enforced, though. All of the restaurants are at the sister resorts (Royalton) at which clothing is required. You may also walk between your room and the pool in the nude, although many cover up. When we were there in May '21 a few guests were surprised at the nudity requirement.

We were at Grand Lido Negril last March the only place nudity is allowed is at the Au Natural side of the resort. You can be nude in and around the pool area. We had a swim out room and nudity is common, we swam up to another couples room for drinks that we got to know and were fully nude. Although the resort states that nudity is mandatory it is not enforced, at least not while we were there. There were couples that stuck to bathing suits and nobody said anything or make them feel uncomfortable. There is a kind of small boardwalk leading from the rooms down to pool area and can be slippery when wet. We walked back and forth to our room nude as well and we did see people nude in the lobby area of the Au Natural side. But that's as far as it goes. They do serve lunch and snacks at the nude pool but clothing is required at all the restaurants. Hope this helps

Grand Lido sections lacks it's own restaurant to eat au natural. With that said. at the outdoor area where you layout nude or swim or drink... they serve lunch there so you can eat nude but you'll eat on your beach lounger. For breakfast there is an area you can eat outside with clothing on but this location has limited food choices. we chose to walk to the buffet which we enjoyed. getting dinner reservation was easy and guaranteed. Since you're a GL guest you are top tier and can go wherever you want, they'll make room for you.
The butler service for us was TERRIBLE- we hope they were fired.. Lunch service was slow and below expectation. The area was not kept as clean as expected for a top tier room rate. drinks were very weak from one bartender and better from a different bartender so it's a hit & miss. There is no "beach" @ GL but access to the ocean via imbedded ladder in the wall. the other section of the property you can visit has beach ears with clothing required. At GL you'll need to reserve your chair with your towel if you expect to pick your location to layout. I think the GL has 34 rooms, so it's a small 'property'.
hope this helped.

I have been to Grand Lido Negril a few times and plan to go back soon!

I completely agree with the responses here.

For me, I love that nudity is officially required in all pool areas, including those attached to swim-out rooms. Guests are permitted to walk nude between their rooms and the pool, and nudity is common in and around the pool area. The "Au Natural" side of the resort is the only area where nudity is allowed, including the pool, boardwalk, and sometimes the lobby.

They do not have their own dedicated restaurant where guests can dine in the nude. Meals are typically served outdoors at the pool area, allowing guests to eat lunch and snacks on their beach loungers without clothing. For breakfast, there is an outdoor area with limited food choices where clothing is required, some walk to the buffet at the sister Royalton resort, where clothing is mandatory. All formal restaurants are located at the neighboring Royalton resorts, and guests must dress appropriately when dining there.

Service varied, with some slow lunch service. And yes, the drink quality was inconsistent depending on the bartender. Reserving poolside chairs with towels is a must for the preferred spots.

I enjoyed my stays and I am going again but there are some of caveats that I mentioned.
