Just got backfrom a week in St. Martin. It was our 5th trip in 6 years. As usual, we fell back in love with the island and with each other. We rented a villa with 2 other couples on Long Beach. WONDERFUL!! Long Beach is still unswimmable, but beautiful. Other beaches: Cupecoy was gone!!, Orient limited from Kon Tiki through Pedros, Dawn Beach was great!!, Maho usual. We spent a lot of time at SSBB watching the planes. The guys really enjoy it there and their Swordfish sandwich is amazing. So are the $1.00 shooters each day. Went to Fish Pot for my birthday -- just as great this year. Tried to go to Mario's Bistro, but it was closed!! What's that all about? Spent some time at Cheri's. They are closed on Tuesdays. Seems the restaurants are taking turns closing on one day to help each other out. Also ate at Le Bar de le Mer in Marigot. Always one of our favorites. Although we did notice the restaurants, etc. were less crowded, the traffic was still difficult.
