I wanted to jump in with 2 comments - your wife watching you being attacked plus seeing them try to open the car door, must have been horrible for her. Also have to congratulate you on your courage to come forward and let us know about this crime aginast you.
If the local police are so numbed by a tourist being attacked and mugged, then that concerns me as to a bigger picture
