We took ours with another family. 4 kids under 8 (3, 4, 6, 8) . They each took their own life vests and were required to wear underway and even at anchor if out of cockpit/ in dingy etc. They knew it was just "we always wear them". No worries. No issues. Parents were relaxed because kids wore lifejackets all the time.
