ScubaDrew- I misread your post thinking you meant that now you're on your "own" boat. HOWEVER, check your charter company's policy on JVD for New Year's. Unless you're on a crewed charter, most companies red-line it for the holiday. I can't remember if we were with Moorings or Horizon on our last New Year's charter, but we were all very clearly told that if we went there & there was any damage, we were not insured & would be responsible for any & all damage, out-of-pocket, on the spot, no deductible.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just have to be a horrible warning.
