I am not kidding you Mal, to me that stuff tastes like really disgustingly dirty sweat socks that have been worn for about a week. It is such a pungent and putrid taste that it often makes me gag and I really can't do anything to prevent it.

Now that I have been reminded what it's called, I even remember seeing a website called I hate cilantro! Some claim it tastes like soap to them but for me, it is my oldest brother's gym socks. Just a truly disgusting flavour.

I wasn't aware it was a genetic thing, but man Oh man, it is a mighty good diet inspiration. The odd thing is that the seeds (coriander) are not nearly as repugnant to me. I can eat stuff made with corriander and not want to upchuck immediately. In fact, in some things, I will even use a little corriander in very small doses on purpose.

Go figure.

Having said that, I have a really sensitive nose. I can smell (and properly identify) almost anything my neighbours are cooking and pretty much what spices they are using. Perhaps it's just too strong for my liking. I really don't have a clue why I hate it so. Maybe it is genetic. I don't recall my mother ever using it at home.

By the way, I LOVE parsley, celery, cucumber, brussel sprouts, tomato, broccoli, spinach, squash, yams, all kinds of peppers, radishes, olives, artichoke, cabbage, any kind of peas, cauliflower, every edible mushroom known to man, any onion, asparagus, any kind of beans, and all sorts of veggies and greens things many people don't like.

Don't ask me to eat eggplant or zuchinni though. They taste like cardboard to me. No flavour whatsoever. Not fond of beets either but I'll eat them to be polite and I really don't care for cooked carrots. Love them raw though.
