Has anyone visited Peter Island and hung out at Little Deadman's Beach? Eaten at that grill? Wondering if it is worth the ferry ride over or if it is one of those 'you are not staying here, so you are a second class citizen'. Still trying to figure out right thing to do for one day off cruise ship. JVD sounds really nice, but husband really hates the 'herd' effect of cruise excursions. Thanks all!

Peter Island isn't a bad choice. The ferry runs every hour and a half or so (Google the schedule), and takes only about fifteen minutes and $20 round trip.

Although technically you're not allowed to use the pool, no one would stop you - but why would you want to? Deadmans Bay is just a short walk from the ferry dock and is beautiful. Again, technically you're not allowed to use the chairs reserved for guests, but again no one would stop you, and there are plenty.

If you're really adventurous you can walk to Great Harbor for a nice snorkel. If not, you can enjoy the beach at Deadmans, have a nice lunch ($$$$) at the beach grill, and even rent a windsurfer or sailing dinghy if you want.

Stop at the gift shop outside the lobby of the resort in Sprat Bay (close to the ferry dock), buy a T-shirt, and say hi to Charity for me!
