Passing along some current info:

Good Afternoon Brian,

Access to Oil Nut Bay and the Beach Club restaurant is currently free of charge with a lunch reservation. Included in your reservation, you will also have access to our three pools, swim-up pool bar, beach and water sports equipment.

We are currently developing our marina village to include a restaurant, bar and provisioning store. Once this area of Oil Nut Bay opens on December 15th, this area will be free for visitors but the Beach Club restaurant within our resort center will only be available to outside guests who have purchased a day pass, costing $75 per person per day.

It was a good deal while it lasted. It’s a beautiful spot, but I would not pay $75 pp. perhaps in the low season they will drop the $75pp.

Agree...it was good whilst it lasted!

We enquired about June next year and received exactly the same text. But maybe later in the season they will change the rules?

I have a marina reservation for December 13th, two days before the deadline. It then becomes exclusive for guests of the resort as stated. The new Marina Village was supposed to be ready by the 15th, although I’m thinking it could be behind schedule. I’ll post my findings once we visit.

Definitely they are behind schedule - we stopped at the Marina yesterday and my estimate is Mid March

I'd pay the $75 - great spot with great food

What would it cost for a family of 4 including the slip and lunch?

Don't know about the slip - we are land based.

What's the status of Oil Nut Bay being open for day trips like the year after the storms? Have they closed the "door" for cruisers?

I'm thinking yes, but just wanted to make sure.

Thanks!

No more using the facilities unless you are a guest of the resort — marina area, yes — resort, no. That is my understanding.

$75/person for a day pass once the marina is open.

Mine as well. We were on VG last month and I emailed management asking if we could dine at the resort restaurant foe lunch. Management response was along the lines of “we are working on opening the marina and when complete, visitors are welcome to visit the (insert name of marina restaurant)”

I can copy and paste the response once I get to my office tomorrow if anyone is interested.

I just called...their restaurant is closed until about April 14th. $75 per person but sounds like not much point in going just to sit around? Honestly, it was hard to follow what she was telling me but it sounded like she way hinting to me that there wasn't much point until the restaurant opens.

I've never been but was highly requested from our charter guests for this trip. Anyone been and may have advice?

Just FYI: "We currently do not have mooring balls, however, you are welcome to dock in our marina overnight. Please note that until April 12th our Beach Club restaurant and beach are open to the public upon a lunch reservation. From April 12th, when we open up a new restaurant in the marina, the Beach Club will become exclusive again for our homeowners and in-villa guests."

Thanks TC42...so there is still some type of restaurant, pool, drink service available the first week of April? We're okay with paying to dock overnight but wanted to make sure it was worth it.

Here's another update:

----------------------

"We just pushed back the opening date until April 16th. Our new Marina Village will feature a restaurant, boutique store, general store, coffee shop, pool and lounge area with day beds and hammocks. It will be open to all no reservation required for groups smaller than 8 people. Very exciting!

Alternatively, you can still visit our Beach Club, however, it will require a reservation and day pass for a price of $75 per person. "

We have spent the night on their docks during our first trip to ONB and it was very quiet and isolated from the rest of the resort. Very nice docks but you are likely to be the only boat on the dock. For our more recent trips we have made it a day trip. If you radio on your way in the dock hands will make sure they are at the dock to give you a hand. Hoping we can try out the new marina village on our next trip in May, ONB is definitely one of our most enjoyable stops and is a can't miss stop for us.

Just received email reply...

Thank you for your inquiry

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate your request until April 16th, which is the day when our new Marina Village is scheduled to open.

We are very excited facing the last stage of preparations and training for Nova restaurant with pool and lounge area, day beds and hammocks, as well as our new boutique store, coffee shop and library.

After the 16th of April you can either visit our Marina Village or alternatively you can visit the Beach Club, however it will require to purchase a day pass for a price of $75 per person.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Quick question for the group: I was thinking about staying in Leverick Bay on one of their morning balls. Would it be too far to dingy over to ONB marina to visit the new restaurant?

Depends on size of dinghy, engine size, how many people...and weather on the day.

We always used to do BEYC down to Leverick and back in dinghy and last year did BEYC right round to the ONB beach Club multiple times.

Assuming not too breezy...15hp engine...4 people...should be absolutely fine. We'd certainly do it.

We spent a fantastic day at Oil Nut this week. Our party of 8 felt like we had the entire property to ourselves. Our ride from gun creek (using the property water taxi) was fairly smooth but the wind had kicked up a bit. Would’ve been tough in a dinghy. But every day is different. We didn’t have to pay any fee and they got their money’s worth from us in food and booze. But we collectively thought $75 for the experience would have been worth it. We loved it.

Did you just call them for a pick up. We will be in VG from the 12th of April...would love to go...did you snorkel?

I don't think so - watch the seas though - once you are past Saba you can get some swells
