Hi Everyone,

I am on the fence, we made reservations for the last week of January. How is January weather? I am rolling the dice or should I switch to the first week of April? Which is a much longer wait, and also more expensive. Thank you!

BTW, I reserved via airbnb so it is easy to reschedule.

December and January usually are a windy months, what they call a “Christmas Winds” and temperatures are cooler. Water temperature is cooler also. We prefer April weather.

We’ve done December a few times and January at least twice and like Snuba, I prefer April. The Christmas winds can leave you feeling sand scrubbed on some days. I personally don’t feel the cooler differences in air and water temps in Dec and Jan but I think the breezes in December could account for that. Or not…….

Respectfully,

pat

Part of the allure of visiting SXM is what environment you're leaving. As a life long New Englander I'll take January/February everytime.
