Motorbike "lane - splitting" must be stopped. The bikes should be required to travel in the same manner as automobiles.

Unfortunately some states are passing laws to make lane splitting legal. Crazy world we live in.

Yes they are. It would be nice if the police started enforcing this instead of just giving it lip service.

Blaming a scooter for a criminal act is the same as blaming a gun for a crime. They are both metal and plastic, inanimate objects not capable of doing anything on their own. It is the operators that are responsible and should be held accountable.
