We've bareboated several times in the BVI with other friends, but this is our first time "captaining" with some other friends. This is our proposed itinerary. Any gotchas or suggestions?

Day 0
Arrive Beef Island, spend night at Nanny Cay Resort.
Possibly go to Road Town for dinner

Day 1
Provision boat, return rental car, Omars or Peg Legs for dinner. Sleep on boat in slip.

Day 2
Sail to Norman Island. Moor (open balls). Jump off Willie T, have dinner at Pirates Bight

Day 3
Sail to Salt Island, get day ball, dingy to the Rhone and snorkle.
Sail to Cooper Island, Boaty Ball ( Machineel Bay). Cooper Island Beach Club / Rum Bar

Day 4
Sail to Virgin Gorda / Baths. Day ball to visit the baths (to get ashore at 9AM).
Sail to Gorda Sound / Leverick Bay area. Boaty Ball. Hit the pirate show.

Day 5
Sail to Bitter End YC, pick up one of their balls. Drinks at BEYC, dinner at Saba Rock.

Day 6
Sail to Marina Cay. Water Taxi to Scrub Island and Loose Mongoose

Day 7
Sail to Jost Van Dyke (Great Harbor). Pick up Boaty Ball. Drinks at Soggy Dollar. Dinner at Foxys?

Day 8
Sail to Peter Island. Peter Island Resor t Moring. Dinner at their restaurant.

Day 9
Return to Nanny Cay to return boat.

One advice..first night dinner at "Gene's" in Sea Cpws Bay (Manuel Reef Marina).Her husband Robin will pick you up and return you for free and you'll have a terrific meal with something( really good) for everyone...And I would head to Anegada from North Sound..

From one in BVI today, make sure you and your guests remember that any itinerary is highly subject to change. Case in point, we are in the middle of two extremely heavy weather days (read heavy as near constant 25+ knot winds and reported 8-10’ North swell) that is not conducive to any open water sailing or any northern exposure shore like Cane Garden Bay, Marina Key, Anagada, etc. Throughout the islands, every has hunkered down to ride out the weather. Even getting to shore to restaurants in the dinghy is less than pleasant. We have 10+ trips to the islands and this is as disruptive to our itinerary as we have ever had.

I second Manpot's recommendation of "Gene's". I went on his advice many years ago, and now we go the night of our sleep aboard on most trips. It's a great way to get the crew adjusted to island time.

Additionally, we have had very uneven experiences for dinner at Foxy's in recent years. The last couple of trips we have been going to dinner at Tipsy Shark, where the food and service have been much better, in our opinion. After dinner, we wander down the way for drinks at Foxy's, and that cures the itch for those inclined.

The Itinerary is a guideline which is likely to be modified by weather or other factors. Don't get married to it or you will guarantee disappointment. Do what you can do, not what you planned to do.

Another plus for Gene's: they've cleaned the wrecked boats out.

A couple of points about Peter Island:

There are very few mooring balls at the resort in Sprat Bay. If there's one available, be careful of the depth. I think we once touched bottom in a monohull when going for one of the balls. We enjoy staying in a slip there, but it's expensive.

They've always had two restaurants -- one that's very expensive and with a dress code, the other slightly less expensive and more casual. Since the rebuild, the locations of the two restaurants have swapped. Now the expensive one is down by the beach, and the casual one is near the pool. At the casual restaurant, I don't think there's any fully enclosed area, just tables underneath a big canopy. Last year we were there near the end of our trip, so we used up our provisions onboard for dinner, and went to the casual restaurant just for dessert.

Agree on Foxy's..fun for drinks but pass on food. Tipsy Shark as said is great as is Ali Baba IMHO in Great Harbour.Always enjoy Hendo's over The Soggy Dollar on White Bay..

Wear an eye patch, talk like a pirate and make sure the crew only addresses you as "Captain Ron"...

Enjoy paradise for this guy from Maine, where the temperature hasn't been above freezing in over a month...

I have an eye patch somewhere (along with my stuffed parrot... ) from a Halloween party a few years back.
