I started this before but lost it wouldn't send,so here it goes again. We were at Eden Bay from Feb 3-10.A couple of suggestions to help you through the airport, make sure you have a pen.You are first required to stand in line to buy a $10 tourist card. The white form we filled out on the plane were not the right ones and we were required to fill out blue/green forms (this is were a pen was worth a lot).Once through passport control you hand in your forms and the tourist card.Give your bags to the green shirted guys as then they walk you right thru the inspection line to the Eden Bay driver-- well worth a couple of dollar tip.Make sure you use the airport facilities because it is a long very bumpy ride to the resort .It took at least 1 1/2 hours in a van with a very tired suspension. The check in process is really very easy.Susan os Sousa (never got that straight ) greated us by name.We had a rum punch. She took us to our rooms after a brief tour. The room was clean but still no air. This was fine for this time of year. You may want to bring a clock if you like to know the time in your room or need to get up at a certain time.
We were pretty hungry after we arrived but had missed lunch, finished at 2:30.Snack is served at 4:30 at the beach but dissapears pretty quick. This may be because they are now at capacitiy(about 100)
While we were there they recieved some of the new items. We were the first to sit on the new dinnig room furniture and the phones arrived in the villas.Calls can be made at the front desk for .35 to the US.They also got wrist holders for the keys but we always just put them in our beach bag.
Activities. We didn't do much One of the things we liked about the resort was no loud boomimg music.Pool aerobics was just our singing. The resort does supply ocean shoes if you want to swim. The hot tubs were great and we could watch the whales from there. We walked into the small town close to the resort,Abreu. It isn't a tourist town but everyone friendly.
The food is good. The soup was great, but the food service wasn't always smooth.Again maybe due to the increased numbers. The little shop in the resort was good and the fellow that ran it was great. We got a pound of coffee for $2.00
All in all we had a good time.Met people from all over, lots of Americains and Canadians but also people from Europe, Wales even Russia.
