We lost my daughters bag coming in to STT yesterday. I do know that it arrived at the carousel because I saw it coming around. We had a couple of us carrying bags so I am not sure we picked it up.

I have verified that it is not in the taxi - we used Christopher @ ocean dreams and he was great at checking boats, taxi, customs. He did have the taxi driver double check the airport and it was not there. So it is either at the airport our was misplaced by the moorings when transferring our luggage before we got on our boat for overnight.

I need help really verifying that it is not at the airport. Anyone know someone at the airport I can contact - I have tried the baggage number and it just rings and rings and rings.

Thanks

Can you email the airline?

Contact security. We had a similar circumstance last June - left one of a dozen bags on the curb outside the terminal. After calling taxi, ferry, etc all week, we got it back on departure day after questioning a number of security people. Not all of them knew about the "back room" where the bag had been placed when found on our arrival day. Good luck!

I have also had bags offloaded at the wrong ferry stop or not loaded at all. Check with the ferry company especially if you stopped at West end before going to roadtown.

We found a camera last Dec on Sandy Spit. On one picture on the memory card of the camera we could figure out two boats on which they have been a couple charters ago. We put the camera to a local police station and contacted the charter company to which the two boats belonged to figure out who was on the boat at that time. They promised to look it up but they never did although we remembered them twice or three times. So even if your lost things are a found by a "honest finder" this doesn´t mean that it will go back to its owner. Unfortunately ...

Last month we had one checked bag not make our flight. American discovered it missed the connection in Philadelphia and would arrive the next day. They put it on a ferry to West End( our request) and we picked it up at customs. The airlines should due the same for you if they still have it.

I had a similar experience my last trip my suitcase never made St Thomas. The airlines lost it the frustrating thing was no one really cared but me. It was found and returned to me two weeks after I got home from my trip. It was sent to the Bahamas. US Airways called me from there and said they would send it via UPS because they were afraid US Airways would loose it again. I did get a lot of new clothes while in BVI compliments of US Airways <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Banana.gif" alt="" />

A man wen to the airport and said " I'm flying to Miami..but I'd like my bag to go to Katmandu, New Delhi and then Sydney, Australia"
" We cant do that sir," said the confused counter clerk.
" Why not?," responded the man," you did it last time!"

Thank you so much for your offers. Captain Christopher of Ocean Dreams Water Taxi asked the taxi driver to look for our bag at the airport the next day. I really don't know what happened but the taxi driver found the bag at the airport and Captain Christopher coordinated getting the bag to Cruz Bay, St Johns. Our 9 year old daughter has her binkie - all is well:) Hats off the Captain Christopher - highly recommended!
