Trip Report May 6 thru 13.

I feel I owe you all this info as you provided great info for me prior to our trip, so here it goes.

Direct flight from Dulles to SXM. Landed 1:45, thru customs by 2:10 and signed for car with Lesley Bruce from Kenny car rental by 2:15. Cell phone from Sharon Harris by 2:35. Arrived at Sapphire Beach Club by 2:50. Massages in the resort by 3:30. We both had excellent massages.

Peg Leg Pub for dinner-filet and rib eye with several Caribs $70 plus tip. Good meal.

Sunday drove to Phillipsburg—DK Gems and met Deepti. What a sweetie!! Got a new ankle bracelet. She showed us 2 gorgeous rings, both great prices but jewelry was not on the agenda this trip. Sorry Deepti, but we will probably be back next year and get the matching white and blue diamond rings!!!! I have all year to think about it now.

Pirates in Paradise in P’burg on the water. Sean the owner is a great guy and the beers were great, beautiful spot to have a cold one while shopping.

Holland House in P.burg for lunch. Delicious gouda and veggie sandwich (I can still taste this one) and ribs for my husband, several caribs $37 including tip. Well worth it and right on the beach.

Lee’s for dinner-Ribs and Mahi Mahi-$27 each including tip. Yummy

Orient Beach La Playa—Cheeseburger and fries and a pita BLT and fries with beer and glass of wine. $37

Mario’s Bistro—FABULOUS! Caesar salad and mussels, The duck (was to die for) and Lamb that my husband adored! Nice bottle of wine, espresso, extra glass of wine and crème brulee. $167 plus tip. GREAT meal, too much food. Took half my duck home and never got to eat it. Next time I’d skip the appetizers.

Massages at the Good Life Spa. Ok (sapphires therapists were better).

Mullet Bay—Beautiful but hot, but that’s what the waters for. Typical beach food-hot dogs etc, along with LOTS of cold beer from David. Perfect.

Cliffhanger still a fabulous spot to see the sunset although the sun is behind the rocks this time of year. Lady C still fun.

Pineapple Pete’s—Lobster thermidor OH my God! Never had it before. Thank you all on this board for this one! 4 of us for dinner-2 lobsters, filet and coconut shrimp 4 bottles of evian no alcohol at this time, needed a break (just a short one) $35 per person.

California in Grand Case for lunch. 2 glasses of wine, a Caesar and chicken artichoke salad---$30 delicious and great spot, The rum afterwards is wonderful.

Kissing Fish for TTOl Happy hour. What a great spot. Who knew that place was there. So nice to meet some of the people from this board. Had to leave early for the Celine Pub Crawl.

Celine Pub Crawl—Very fun!!!! Met great people. Do not do this for the food though. The food was ok but not enough of it to satisfy everyone’s appetites. I would still do it again as I haven’t laughed that much in years!!!! Great fun.

Heineken Bluebeard Catamaran to Anguilla. Having been on this boat before and knowing the crew made it even more fun. The bus from the beach you get to that takes you Shoal Bay is a bit of a bummer. Would not do this trip again but would definitely to Prickly Pear trip with them next time.

Friday, our last full day, we found Baie Rouge. What a find!!! We are already talking about going back just to go to this beach. Lunch at Gus’s Beach Bar. Wonderful shrimp salad and the seafood special was delicious. Beer good too!!

Tropicana in Marigot Marina for our last meal. Never disappointed here. Superb and I must say our favorite restaurant on the island. The big full moon over the mountain sitting by the water helps as well. Bottle of wine, rack of lamb and filet. Special crème brulee and espresso. Banana rum on the table after dinner. $138 including tip—we left more tip as the service was exceptional.

Zee Best in Simpson Bay for the only breakfast we had. (We grabbed chocolate croissants every morning from where ever we were). I must say—it is a great place for breakfast and the rest of the menu looked yummy.

I hope this comes in handy to who ever reads it. I’m now starving after writing this—and I really want a beer!! Have been home for 14 hours now and really miss the island.

Can not wait for the airport!!! Leaving on a Saturday is INSANE!!!!s
