Began the venture Friday night doing the Holiday Inn Select in Rosemont Park and Fly option. Great hotel with a great restaurant to begin the trip.
Sat. the 19th-United direct to SXM, on time and a pleasant flight. Just wish they had not cancelled their direct flights in the summer! Rented a car from Unity AGAIN and a phone from Sharon. Great service as usual. Made our way to Grand Marche and the Carribean Princess(checked in at Cap Caraibes). We shared a condo with friends and had a beautiful 2 bedroom/bath condo that overlooked Orient. Changed for dinner and went to Tai Chi in Orient Village, a most excellent meal.
Sunday the 20th: Woke up to rain and some clouds but still headed to the beach and captured a few rays and Caribs! Love the fresh pasties at Tap 5 for breakfast. We pack sandwiches for the beach to save a little moola. Dinner was spent at the sports bar in Orient where we had an awesome time watching the play off games. Just very disappoointed that my Pack lost!!! Dinner was very good and we felt prices were good. I think this place sometimes gets overlooked..yes I know I am going to butcher the name, "La Chapple". Shared a bottle of wine back at the condo. We spent most of our time near LaPlaya but were able to sneak away for some time at Club O and The Perch happy hour.
Monday the 21st-Beach again, some rain again. Headed into Marigot early to see our friend Sam at Maaya. Had a nice visit and purchased some jewels from him. Headed to Grand Case for dinner and ate at the Hibiscus, all I can say is WOW!!! What an awesome meal we had! Look them up if you get a chance!
Tuesday the 22nd-spent a great day at the beach. Headed into Phillipsburg to do some shopping late afternoon and went in to Grand Case to eat at Spicy..again WOW. Sophie and her husband are doing a wonderful job! Had a great time with Sophie. Headed back to the condo for some packing <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> and went to Wakaiki to see a local band before retiring.
Wed. the 23rd we had a flight on US Air that didn't leave until 5:30 PM. Spent the day on the beach until 2 ish and then decided we needed to say goodbye. Headed to the airport and flight was on time. Sad to say I am at work today and the high was 12 degrees! Oh well, see you in July Orient Beach!
