We usually don't book out this far in advance for our March vacation, but today booked our air to SXM from Miami. AA is running ROUND TRIP for 370.00 each. FLL, may be a bit closer for us, but, JB is currently about 250 bucks higher priced, and with all the cancellations with JB lately, i still don't want to fly them. We are flying in on Thursday, and leaving on Friday, to avoid PJIA on Saturdays. We also booked the ''turquoise suite'' at El Zafirro for our two days ''extra'' before our timeshare. We have never even drove by ElZafirro before, but with all the raving reviews from here and fb, we decided to give it a try. I guess you can teach two old dogs something new. LOL

Spent two weeks at El Zafiro the year after Irma. We really enjoyed our stay and it was nice having a restaurant/bar on site. Hope you enjoy it.

We're coming back in March as well, but I'm just uncomfortable booking flights so far in advance. With all the flight changes we had prior to our trip earlier this year (and the hassle's it created), I think we're going to wait a little while. Hope it works out well for you though.

IMHO, the biggest problem with waiting is the possibility or probability of higher fares. Schedule changes happen and if they are significant enough, one can always get a refund. I booked for March, one ticket in miles (thanks to AA and the debacle I had getting there this year) and the other a cash ticket on Delta. I paid the extra fee for a refundable ticket. The world oil market and inflation off the charts points to pretty much higher prices for fares and about everything else. With the ticket I booked, I can change or cancel IF the fare drops but it was a fare I could live with and pulled the trigger.

Looks like we will be down in March as well, for a bit over a week. As long as we are all the way over to Savannah for meetings why not jump down before going back to the PNW. We book as far in advance as able, changes almost always happen but the cost of big seats rarely seems to go down and when flying as far as we do, big seats it is. We will arrive just after Regatta. Still doing our normal trip with the November Gang.

Really craving the island lately.
Cheers!
T

I prefer the Isle seat

Same here. Big seats from the west coast is the only way for us. We'll be booking as soon as schedules come out for next May.

That's exactly what I do as well. By the time I return this trip, it will be about time to book my outbound for June, 2023. This results in two one-way tickets, which quite often are cheaper than a round-trip ticket.

For sure. One benefit of having fixed week timeshare is you know when and where you're staying so booking that early is more economical.

We be there for the month of March. Have checked fares a coupe of times, but quite expensive last time I looked. Time to start checking more frequently.
