rci does it again but thats another story. I did get a week at the belair so at least i am on the same beach as divi. My question, has anyone stayed at belair and if so what is it like. Also, it is a 2 bedroom, does anyone know what they are like?

Belair is an older property, all two bedroom units, with the second bedroom being much smaller, but all with a nice balcony or patio with full ocean view.

We have been going to Belair every year for 25 years. TS owners for the past 19 years. Real easy to summarize the + and - for you.
+
Smaller resort (less than 70 apartments), Good Security, close to Philipsburg, Great staff, Nice size beach, One of the best views (from all apts.) in SXM, Restaurant food is pretty good, Full bath for master BR, Shower for 2nd BR.
-
Dated, nice apartment but no full size stove (toaster oven), 2nd BR just large enough for double bed, Check in @ 4PM but Check out at 10AM. TS guest gets daily maid service, hotel guest gets maid service 1/week.
Any additional information please send pm.

Thanks very much. I have walked by there many many times over the years but never inside. Actually, when my son was 1 I would get up at 3 because something woke him up every night and would walk from belair to the fort and back until 8 then I would get my wife up and say I am done for about a half hour (lasted about 10 min). Whatever it is I am in st. Maarten for our annual 2 weeks and now counting down the time!

We just returned on the 10th of January from 2 weeks. We've been there for 2 or 3 weeks every year for a long time. I'm sure you will enjoy your stay.

We have stayed at Belair the last 3 times we have been in the island and we love it. It is not fancy so don't expect fancy. The furniture is a little dated and the kitchen is small with only a toaster oven as someone mentioned. We are going back for 3 weeks and we are bringing a george foreman grill as we thought that would make the home experience a little better. Seems silly so we will see how that works.

Staff is friendly if you are friendly to them. Maid service is very good. They have laundry facilities which we use since we stay there 3 weeks. The food at the restaurant is ok but a little overpriced. They do have 2 for 1 happy hours which are pretty good.

I have pictures which I will post a link to shortly. If you have any other questions you can email me or post here.

The unit has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom has an onsuite which is nice and private and has two sinks with a tub and shower.

The 2nd bedroom is very small and has a full/queen bed in it with a door that leads into the 2nd bathroom. The 2nd bathroom has a door from the living room also which is nice.

I was trying to paste some pictures on here but I can't seem to do that?

Thanks for the info. We usually stay at divi but couldn't get the second week so there we are. We are low maintenance so don't care about fancy at all.

To me Belair's furniture looks like what Caribbean furniture should look like but I've only seen it by walking by from Divi whose furniture, in my opinion, is too nouveau ---like something I'd expect to find in a NYC hotel not a tropical island.

We took the Belair TS tour years ago and it was nice enough that if I wanted TS it was a good place to buy.

Like any resort, pros and cons.
Small, safe, quiet, dated, one of the few resort hotels that withstood hurricanes even the one that wiped out Divi next to it (Luis?). Right on the beach, which used to be huge but like so many beaches, lost a lot but in the past few years it is regaining beach. As stated, can't beat the view.

I note those pictures seem to be dated 2007. Have there been any upgrades to the units since then? The view from the balcony sure is wonderful!!

OK, that was about what I remembered the units being like, as we visited a friend there, probably around that time.
