I would second either of the options proposed by Tacking Ag (Kevin taxi + ferry to West End) or RickG (land taxi + Water Taxi to West End). Water Taxi would be more expensive, but eliminate any concern about making the public ferry).

Sailing across Pillsbury Sound from STT to St. John is seldom a comfortable ride and probably not how you would want to welcome your wives to the charter.

Either West End option is the way to go, IMHO.
