Better late than never--and excuse the typos as I am typing this on my phone. Flights with American Airlines (Jacksonville to Miami to St. Maarten and back) were uneventful and on time. No complaints with American as they typically have treated me well. Stayed in a private apartment across from Buccaneer Beach Bar. It was more than adequate with a nice view and was very reasonable. Was nice having a washer and dryer as that allowed us to pack lighter (at least I did--can't say as much for the wife yikes). The Kim Sha portion of Simpson Bay Beach was the only beach we made it to so not much to report beach wise. Weather was very dry as we only had one shower during our two week stay. Temperatures were perfect (highs around 83 to 84). Was interested in trying some new restaurants and most did not disappoint. Jax Steakhouse was one of those and it was very good. It seems to be popular so I strongly suggest reservations. There were folks trying to get a table while we were there and were told it would be a 1 1/2 hour wait. We split the ribeye which was quite good. Service was attentive and the atmosphere made it a very nice evening. I thought it was going to be my favorite new restaurant until we went to Frenchy Ludo's a week later. We had requested an inside table at Frenchy Ludo's so we could enjoy Chocolate Sax while dining. Good choice as it made for a very romantic dining experience. I had the Cannibal Special which included three different cuts of steak--ribeye, filet and new york strip. Each cut was excellent and in my opinion, was even better than the very good ribeye we had at Jax. My wife had the Fisherman's Net which was an assortment of seafood and it too was very good. It was definitely our favorite meal of the trip. We also went to Palapa Grill for the first time. The atmosphere was nice and the meal was good--but not up to the standards of the previous two mentioned places. We also had dinners at several of our favorites--La Rosa Too, Mario's Bistro, Skipjack's, Greenhouse and Pineapple Pete's. All were good. On Wednesday nights What The Funk with Amin plays at Pineapple Pete's and they are very good. Don't know the name of the singer but he was surprisingly good. If you like music, Wednesday night at Pineapple Pete's is a good choice. Also made it to Hole In The Wall to hear Bob Barron and Ronnie Santana. Bob is a good friend so I always enjoy hearing the two of them. Took a day trip with Captain Neil Roebert on his new boat Enigma. It's definitely bigger than his previous two boats so the ride is smooth and comfortable. Went to Long Bay and Mullet Bay. It was a beautiful day and the food was very good as usual. Did some nice snorkeling at Mullet. Always enjoy going out with Captain Neil. We also made it to the Grand Parade during Carnival (see previous post with pictures). It was quite the spectacle. Costumes were spectacular and well worth our making the trip. We watched for over two hours and it was still going on when we left. Glad we had prearranged a taxi as traffic was horrible. When we left at 5:15, folks were still pouring into Philipsburg and some were having to park several miles from downtown. We also had lunch at Driftwood Boat Bar and made it to Topper's several nights for karaoke. All in all, it was an excellent trip that reminded me why we have been coming, and returning for 24 years. We are returning the end of June and will be staying one month. Hopefully, more to come dance

Can you tell me where Frenchy Ludo's is located. What type of food do they do? Thanks.

Basically in the shopping center across the street from Burger King/Market Garden in Simpson Bay.

They have a varied menu. I would call it International with a French flair.

Combination of tapas to hummus, French fusion they call it. Mahi, Mahi was outstanding due to sauce used..lots on the menu, just have to try it out.

Our meal there in March was the best we had in two weeks on island. Parking (lack of) is the only drawback.
