Georgia, the turnips we get on LI are the same size or larger than the waxed ones (rudebagas)...
The wax is there for preservation...
we also get the small turnips on LI, but they turn from the purple tops with white udersides to the brownish color when they get larger...
according to the farmers out there, they are the same thing...
