@Zanshin, Thanks for this, and this is certainly our experience and expectation. I will say, from our experience hiring a captain, the first came from the charter company(Moorings). We liked him a lot, and when we booked the last trip through VYC, we asked if we could use him, and VYC agreed, as he was on their approved list. So good to see they have an approval process. I'd be willing to be that those people hired a captain and "assumed" that he was responsible and were not monitoring buoy colors. But who knows.....
